They recently supported Big Scary. They're also announced to be in Splendour In the Grass 2012 (wish I could go, if only it's in Melbourne). Their debut EP 'Burn Bright' is going to be released soon. Surely, this band's going to be a hit soon!

Mosman Alder's single, Raisin Heart, sounds adventurous and dreamy. It hooks the listeners with the beautiful melodies and the upbeat drum play in the beginning. The vocal is deep and hypnotic, which makes the song sounds mysterious and a bit dark. There's a little mix of adventure feeling too, which I'd say, is created by the keyboard, backing vocals and the drum play.

We had a little interview with Jackson,

1. Who makes up your band?
Valdis, Kat, Jackson, Damian, Liam, Robyn

2. Where are you guys from?
We are from all over the place, but we like to say we are from Brisbane.

3. Who's your music inspiration?
We all have a very vast and varied music tastes so thats a hard question to answer on behalf of the whole band. Personally I am inspired by bands like My Bloody Valentine, The Beatles, Pink Floyd and Radiohead. Bands that are innovative yet are still accessible.

4. Can you tell us how did your band form?
Liam, Damian and I had been playing in a band for while before the band. We had been good friends with Valdis and used to play gigs with his band at the time. Kat and I met through share housing and after a while stated talking about making a band. Valdis showed interest and it all kind of came together. While we were in the studio recording our first demos, Valdis poached Robyn for some session work and she stayed.

5. What's the story behind the band name?
The word 'Mosman' was taken from a lovely little town near Cairns called 'Mossman' and the word 'Alder' is taken from my old guitar, it was made of alder.

6. Can you guys tell us the story behind "Raisin Heart", just a little bit.
'Raisin Heart' was literally one of the bands first songs. Valdis had written the bulk of it in Germany. We finished most of it off in Kat's bedroom at one our first sessions. I think Valdis is poking fun with the lyrics, he is not really depressed.

7. What's the biggest challenge in the writing/recording process of your debut EP "Burn Bright"?
Writing it was easy. However recording this EP was kind of difficult . A heap of external influences kept delaying our dates in the studio and it was spanned over 6 months. This made it hard to gain momentum and it felt like it didn't want to get made. But we got there in the end and are proud of the result.

8.You guys are supporting Big Scary and also are gonna be in Splendour In the Grass! How does it feel?
We just finished our tour with Big Scary and it was tops. Some really good turn outs and loads of fun. And yes! It feels great to play at Splendour. The line-up is phenomenal and we are super excited!

9. How do you describe your music?
Six people making lots of noise, some times not so much.

10. If you could collaborate with any musician, who would it be and why?
Probably Mark Linkous of Sparklehorse. If only I could go into time machine before he had passed. I love his work. I think we would get along and I could really learn something from a person like that.

11. If you could play anywhere in the world, where would it be?
New York. I have never been there and have heard so much.

12. Tell us 5 random facts about your band.
1. Kat was born in Poland.
2. Liam is the only one with a car and a license in our band.
3. Liam's car is an old excel, we call it Keith.
4. We were originally called 'Wedding'
5. Valdis and I used to work in a super dodgy supermarket together.

13. What or who would you be reincarnated as?
A butterfly, no one suspects the butterfly.
