Claire might look sweet, but her music is significantly strong. You can prove it yourself by listening to her EP 'The Empire'. The feeling of her EP is powerful and positive. It's the kind of music that would give spirit to you and makes you wanna go outside and do something. It's pretty dancey too, with all the synth and the drum play. The beats are really catchy. Her vocal is just marvelous, with some rap here and there.

1. Where are you from?

I'm from Munich (Germany), but to one half I'm a Kiwi :D 

2. How did you first start writing music?

Well, somehow I just slipped into everything. It's like one thing lead to another and 4 months ago everything led to Claire and now I've got 'The Empire'.

3. Who’s your music inspiration?

Hmm I've got an Inspiration playlist with artists like "Little Dragon", "Oh Land" or "Hundreds" a German band, but I always find new inspiration and I'm always up to finding new music that is interesting 

4. How do you describe your music?

Awesome...haha, just kidding. Maybe as a mix out of an Indiepop/Synthpop/Electronic Beat with more or less acoustic vocals and a touch of hip-hop or like lady-rap-vocals, but not too much.  

5. What do you do when you're stuck on writing songs?

Eat something... brain food. Never say die!!

6. What do you think is your best achievement so far?

I'm so proud to have finished 'The Empire' and as it all just started I haven't achieved as much but I hope that will change :D Working on it!! 

7. Our favourite is "The Next Ones to Come". Can you tell us the story behind the song, just a little bit? 

The song is one that should just encourage you to get you out and just do something, if it's meeting up with your friends or just get out in the sun... The song gives me a good feeling and I loved to do the Rap part in that song. And I have to say if I could only show one song of the EP it would be 'the next ones to come"... So maybe I'm the next one to come ;) 

8. What kind of bands/musicians are you into at the moment?

Santigold, Why?, Matt Corby (nice Australian dude ;D), Trentemoller, Dillon , Edei, Modeselektor... But that's just what came to me in that moment, it's actually nothing particular that I listen to.

9. What are you working on at the moment?

I am hoping to reach a lot of people, so they can listen to my music. I'm constantly working on new songs and we're trying to do a video to one of the songs anytime soon. I think the next big step is to get the songs on a stage and to play them live ... and that is what I'm really looking forward to. 

10. If you could collaborate with any musician, who would it be and why?

I would love to play live with "Oh Land", because I think, she presents her self really good ... 

11. If you could play anywhere in the world, where would it be?

Does it have to be anywhere in the world, because it would be really cool to play on the moon!!

12. Tell us 5 random facts about you

-I laugh a lot, and I've heard it's healthy so I'm keeping that up 

-While recording a song I make funny noises if something didn't work 

-I also like playing the guitar and singing acoustic 

-I never thought my work will spread so far that even a Blog from Melbourne would like me to answer some questions, and that is so cool ;) 

-Never hand me any technical devices... I will destroy them. 

13.  What or who would you like to be reincarnated as?

As me, myself and I... Or maybe?! Hmm now just stupid things are popping up like a superhero or a crazy hyper intelligent professor :D
